Verb Tenses 5.5

While studying the verb tenses and doing the tests I didn't reach the top points. During the tests I had to use a google translator to understand the phrase correctly and verbs correctly. This surprised me.

I did a few tests on the same page and the page that I found by my self. The verb tenses are clearly one of the most difficult ones for me. For many of the tests I thought I could do everything perfectly and finally the result was 30%. It was hard for me to understand what had gone wrong. I also remember from high school that these were difficult for me. I've always felt that when I talk English I can use the right verb tenses but when they need to be addressed in the context of the text and writing, it becomes difficult for me.

I think I should do more of these tests and develop my English in every respect. I also made a few other tests that are not shown in this blog. I think that taking those test was very profitable. It is important to myself that my English is good because I don't know other foreign languages. I would like to develop continuously in English and by doing these tests I would certainly be able to succeed.

Below are my two tests. I will end my blog in this post. Thank you for following. It was interesting to find out my English skills. It been I while since I have done any kind of tests at all.

Vocabulary tests 3.5.2019

New day new tests. Actually I did these tests already yesterday. I chose the vocabulary tests and waited with interest to find these easy or difficult for myself.

First I made a vocabulary test about work. Ready made options made the test much easier. This test was easy for me and I got 90% right at the first time. If there were no answer options, I don't think I would have done so well.

Next I changed the subject. Again, there were ready made answer options that were almost too easy. I read the whole sentence first and I translated it. This always makes it easier to me in similar tasks. I got all the points right in the first attempt. Without the answer options, finding the right words would have gone a long way. Some of the words were almost strange to me but when I read the phrase I understood them immediately.

I made another vocabulary test. I chose school and university as a topic. I thought there would have been difficult words but surprisingly this test went right in the first attempt.

I found the tests too easy. The vocabulary has never been my strength so I feel that these tests were not good at defining my right skills. I know the basic vocabulary in English and I can always express myself well when I speak. However using such a difficult words and fill words is my weakness. For the sake of interest I may want to do other similar tests to see my true level.

I think repetition vocabulary would be good to me. I think everyone should always try to repeat the vocabulary. Especially your own industry vocabulary.

Learn prepositions 2.5.2019

On 2th of May I started to develop my English language skills. I decided to take few tests and work on my skills based on those tests. I started by taking prepositions- test.

First I started with the easiest test for myself. First I got 80% correct result. Then I noticed the mistakes I made and I corrected them. Below are the final answers to the first test. For me this was relatively easy and didn't take me long. Understanding the whole sentence is the most difficult one for me. First I just looked only the words around the empty spot. Soon I realized to watch the whole sentence before filling the spot. After all I do not feel that there is necessarily something for myself that I should develop in the future.

After the first test I went to the next preposition test. This was much more difficult to me. The test took me much more longer to take and first I didn't even understand it at all. It seemed to me that more options would have gone to many places. I spoke out loud to understand them better. However the meaning of the sentences was not difficult to understand. I find that direction prepositions are challenging for myself and I certainly use the wrong prepositions when I speak and write. It was interesting to see that there is still room for improvement.

As you can see below, I got 70% of the first attempt on the test. I then corrected my error. With the first fix I didn't get all right but eventually. I experience my English relatively well but this test confirmed that there is still room for improvement.

Tomorrow I will continue to work with my English development.
